We expect to receive far more applications than spots. To be fair to everyone, here's how we'll choose:
- You already manage a product catalog with at least 1,000 SKUs across one or more sales channels
- You can describe one specific pain in 2-3 lines: catalog update cycles, supplier onboarding time, PDF datasheets behind, multi-language headaches — whatever hurts most
- There's one person in your team who will champion the pilot — not a committee, not an external consultant
- You're willing to share results with the wider community if the pilot works
We want real European manufacturers on the platform, not more pitch decks.
Docfire's core modules — Morphin (PIM + DAM), Bridge, and the Docfire document engine that becomes Doc at the 2026-06-01 platform launch — are already in production with long-term paying customers. But a platform gets built by the feedback of a wider group: different catalog sizes, different verticals, different ERP setups. This program brings a small cohort of European manufacturers and distributors onto Docfire, learns from what breaks, and turns the surviving installs into the case studies our next customers will read.
Questions before you apply
Is it really free? What's the catch?
Really free for 12 months, full platform access. The exchange is the three written check-ins, the final interview, and a case study only if the pilot works. After 12 months you decide whether to convert to a paid plan with a founder discount, or walk away with no obligation.
Who owns my product data?
You do. It's your catalog, your images, your specs. You can export everything at any time as CSV or JSON. Cloud SaaS keeps data in EU regions (Hetzner Germany). On-premise deployment is available if you need your data to stay inside your infrastructure.
What happens after the 12 months?
Three options: convert to a paid plan with a permanent founder discount, step down to the free tier with limits, or stop using Docfire with no penalty. There's no auto-renewal, no credit card on file, no surprise invoice.
Do I need to be in Italy?
No. The program is open to any European manufacturer or distributor. We run check-ins in English or Italian. Outside Europe is possible for the right fit — write to us.
What if the cohort is already full when I apply?
We move you to the waitlist. The first cohort is small on purpose, so we can give every partner real attention. As soon as we open the next round we contact the waitlist first, before publishing anywhere. Filippo Groppi, founder of Docfire, personally reviews every application and responds within ten days.
I'm not sure my catalog is the right fit. Should I still apply?
Yes. The application takes five minutes. If your setup doesn't fit, we'll tell you honestly and point you in a better direction. If it might fit, we'll discuss it before deciding. Don't self-reject.
